"How deliciously we ate here! From classics with a twist to original flavor combinations; everything is equally delicious. Very nice that they add extra experience at the table, from the guacamole to the flambéing. That made the party complete. The drinks were also downright top notch with a good story, beautiful presentation, glassware and exceptional flavors. Good to see that they are serious about the drink menu: fine wines, delicious and balanced cocktails, appropriate garnishes and last but not least a central place for the bar. This way they radiate that besides dining, drinking also plays a prominent role in the restaurant. And it works, because guests actually sit down at the bar for a drink before or after dinner. Both the food and the drinks were completely on point!"
DESIGN
"Here the design has clearly been well thought out. The descent into the case is already promising. Inside, we are not disappointed. The interior exudes style, warmth, light and luxury. We see both classic and funky elements, nicely done! The combination of the long, wavy bar and the low tables gives a very nice dynamic. Real eye-catchers we found the round windows and the lamp with the name of the business above the bar, fun and original! A lot of attention was also paid to the toilets, floors and seating. The overall picture of this establishment is just right!"
ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE
"We sincerely hope that other guests receive the same service that we did. Which was in a word insane! The staff was relaxed and knowledgeable. Staff is encouraged to provide their own input. Fine, because such a policy only enhances commitment, quality and team spirit. Employees are clearly here to make a career and regularly switch from one business to another. Useful for the owners as well as for them, because that way they gain extra experience.”
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
"Nice to see the entrepreneurs steadily building the empire. Each business is unmistakably 1NUL8, but it has its own character. It shows guts that they are not necessarily sticking to one successful formula, but are letting the location and the premises determine what type of business there will be. The design, F&B offerings, atmosphere and service are all class. 1NUL8 Basement ticks all the boxes for both dining and drinking, and that makes this establishment the absolute winner!"

With the winning concept, the front and back are right and f&b offerings, design and atmosphere, among other things, create an evening you need after a long day at work! The establishment has room for more than 125 guests.

ABOUT 1NUL8 BASEMENT
Fabian Loveriks and Floris van der Sluis opened their newest establishment 1NUL8 Basement in the heart of Rotterdam last September. The entrepreneurs transformed their former restaurant Vandal into a modern cocktail bar and restaurant. Dennis Koeslag took care of the interior and drew inspiration from the surrounding water. So 1NUL8 Basement is dressed in green-gray-beige tones and the carpet contains the curve of waves. In the middle of the establishment you will find a large 3D printed bar with those same waves.
Artist Laura Hersée created the murals. "The tables and chairs are made in shades of weathered wood, and the couches and armchairs are upholstered in soft fabrics, says Koeslag. Everything has a breezy and homy feel. Like being in a cool hotel bar in the south of France, and with fantastic cuisine too. “
